Ofcom, the UK's communications watchdog, has made urgent contact with X and xAI to understand what steps they have taken to comply with their legal duties to protect users in the UK. The European Commission is also seriously looking into complaints that Grok was being used to generate and disseminate sexually explicit childlike images. This trend escalated after a December update to Musk's free AI assistant, Grok, made it easier for users to post photographs and ask for their clothing to be removed, enabling the creation of sexually suggestive pictures of minors, some as young as 10.
