EU's cybersecurity agency ENISA used AI to write threat reports, leading to hallucinations and incorrect citations, drawing criticism.

The European Union cybersecurity agency ENISA has been found to have published threat reports riddled with artificial intelligence (AI) hallucinations. Researchers from Westfälische Hochschule university raised suspicions about two reports from October and November, noting inconclusive passages and numerous broken links to cited sources. ENISA admitted that "human errors" had occurred and that AI was allowed to make "minor editorial revisions." This incident has been described as "embarrassing" by the Chaos Computer Club, Europe's largest association of hackers.
